All Aboard! Woo Woo!
Sorry guys, no post this week. I’m the caboose on a meal train. If you haven’t heard of Meal Train, I highly recommend looking into it.
This site is the answer to “Is there anything I can do?” when someone is suffering from a long term injury or illness. It’s a way to organize the delivery of meals to a family with a) a lot on their plate and b) nothing on their plate, so to speak. A family can list their food preferences and participants sign up for particular days to deliver meals. The dates are spaced out enough to allow for leftovers or pizza nights. This means they don’t end up with a freezer full of casseroles every Sunday, you can see what others are making so there are no duplicates, and any allergies or dislikes can be listed to prevent wasting food.
Obviously I can’t experiment with some sort of nonsense when I’m cooking for other folks, so today’s meal is a tried and true favorite that’s not interesting enough to write about again. But if you’re like me and one of your first reactions to bad news is a mental trip to the grocery, check out that website. See y’all next week!
